Terms of Service
The plain-language terms for using TypeDock and a TypeDock Pro subscription.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Caffeinated Code d.o.o. (“we”, “us”), the maker of TypeDock (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App — or by subscribing to TypeDock Pro — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use TypeDock on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use. You may not resell, redistribute, rent, or sublicense the App, remove its notices, or attempt to derive its source code except to the extent the law expressly permits. All rights not granted are reserved to us.
3. Your content stays yours
The snippets, clipboard items, and any other text you create or store in TypeDock are yours. We claim no ownership of them and, as described in our Privacy Policy, we do not receive them — they stay on your devices and, if you enable sync, in your own iCloud account.
4. TypeDock Pro subscription
TypeDock is free to use with certain limits. TypeDock Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the full app — including unlimited snippets and clipboard history, on-device AI, iCloud sync, and the command-line tool. It is offered monthly and annually; new subscribers get a 7-day free trial on either plan. Current prices are shown in the App before you purchase and may vary by region and over time. Unless you cancel, a subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, and your payment method is charged. A free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
5. Who you buy from (merchant of record)
Depending on your platform, your purchase is sold and processed by a different merchant of record, and that company’s terms also apply to the transaction:
- On iPhone and iPad, purchases are made through the Apple App Store and billed by Apple under the Apple Media Services / standard EULA.
- On the Mac (direct download), purchases are sold and processed by Paddle as our merchant of record. Paddle handles payment, invoicing, and applicable taxes, and its Buyer Terms apply to that purchase.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time; your Pro access continues until the end of the paid period. How to cancel, how the free trial works, and when you can get your money back are all set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Nothing here limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer.
7. Acceptable use
Use TypeDock lawfully. Do not use it to store or transmit content that is illegal, or in any way that infringes others’ rights, interferes with the App’s operation or security, or breaches these Terms. TypeDock inserts and expands text on your behalf into other applications; you are responsible for the text you create and where you use it.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep TypeDock reliable, but we may update, change, or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms. If we make a material change we will make it available here and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continuing to use TypeDock after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. TypeDock is a productivity tool, not a backup service — keep your own copies of anything important.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your mandatory consumer rights.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia, where Caffeinated Code d.o.o. is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and this clause does not deprive you of them.
